MUSIC
Music plays an important part in the worship within Christ Church. We are very fortunate to have a wealth of musicians who can play keyboard, guitar, mandolin, drums, violin and flute. They are all church members and unpaid. The church has an electric piano, an electronic drum kit and a sound reinforcement system with mixing console; a collection that reflects the variety of music incorporated in the services.
Generally the electric piano is used for the 9.00 a.m. service whilst a group of musicians chooses the music and plays at the 10.30 a.m. service. They are a spirit-led group who play a significant role in introducing and helping to lead the worship throughout the service. Songs of Fellowship is our most used music book and an overhead projector is used to introduce new hymns and choruses. Although there is no choir, there is a group of singers who get together for special occasions (e.g. the carol service).
