WGOD - Whats Going on Down

What’s been happening in December and January?

Xmas tree

  • Lots of visitors came to our Christmas Tree Festival on the second weekend of December.  The children from the local schools sang Christmassy songs and carols on the Saturday morning, we had craft demonstrations, a quiz, a treasure hunt, refreshments, judging of the Christmas trees and the weekend was rounded off with a performance by Hands Up; Puppets 4 Jesus on the Sunday afternoon.  Take a look at our website for photos of the events and some of the trees - click here. Lots of families came to Messy Christmas on 5 December – it was both messy and Christmassy!

  • Members of the community enjoyed a festive meal at the Christmas Luncheon Club … and gifts from a special visitor dressed in red!

  • Children from Great Binfields’ School and Willowdene Nursery came to visit the church.

Festival Place

  • A good number of people from Christ Church took part in “Christmas at Festival Place”, a week-long programme of events in Basingstoke including crafts, wandering nativity characters and a daily show by Hands Up; Puppets 4 Jesus, all rounded off with a “live nativity” on the Saturday.
